Moose Hockey offers FREE Learn to Play clinics throughout the year. Keep an eye on the Learn to Play page at MooseYouthHockey.org for future clinics (or “like” Moose Youth Hockey Association on Facebook for notifications).
Moose Youth Hockey is available for boys and girls as young as four. Kids must live in and/or be in the Monticello or Maple Lake school districts.
· We call our youngest level the 8u Level (formerly mites) or the Initiation Program (Pre-Kindergarten thru 3rd grade) levels.
· Typically the 8u hockey season runs mid-October through early March.
· Most often our 8u practices are Saturday and Sunday mornings at the Moose Sherritt Ice Arena (at the Monticello Middle School) for an hour to an hour and a half.
· Registration for the hockey season typically opens in early August.
Equipment needed - To gear up for 8u hockey a skater will need a helmet, mouth guard, neck guard, shoulder pads, elbow pads, shin guards, hockey socks, breezers, skates and a stick. **Moose & RiverHawks Mite families - Our equipment partner, Dave's Sport Shop, in Maple Grove has Mite equipment packages being offered through for the 2022-2023 season.

Competitive Level Skaters will also be receiving a personalized, team-issued, Bauer warm-up set. Any additions by an individual team to their schedule such as additional practices, games and/or additional tournaments will be the responsibility of the individual team.
